Stunited Tracks the World Top Universities with Highest International Students

In this fast changing world, education system is witnessing a rapid change as well. While economists are foretelling about the economic zones revival, there are indications of shift in the education field as well. The research team at Stunited.org has tracked the summer admissions in universities around the world in session 2015-2016 and found that majority of contributors are Asian countries. While the destination countries are vying for the pie in global market share, international education offers a unique opportunity for a country to earn foreign exchange1. This is an economic opportunity that defies economic downturn as the country specific brand image for education or HE (higher education) as a destination is supreme in perceptual map of aspiring international students. OECD ranks UK as the first country in EU to achieve sustainable education system for financing HE. It is but natural that many aspiring students vie for good quality HE education and receive their degree that matches with their internal realistic aspiration.

So choosing an apt university that offers too many facilities that matches with aspiring international students demonstrates how the universities, their education ministry are developing outward looking strategies and willing to adapt the best of talents, across cultures, ethnicities. There are (MOOCs) massive open online courses in USA, short term courses which Stunited.org think-tank see it as the emerging media for large scale global education expansion.

UK developed its own with British Library, British Museum, British Council are UK MOOC platform while there is evidence of partnership with Trinity (Dublin) and Australian Monash university and Edinburgh with tie up with US MOOC2. International education council attributed that whatever form education exists, the maximum number of students come from China, India, Russia, South Korea, Brazil, Mexico, Indonesia, Turkey. This transnational education market is looking for opportunities and is dependent on course variety, scholarships, cost of living, jobs opportunity after pass out. So the value of the degree obtained is ideally looked at by aspiring students to leverage their international degree and their career. The above graph show the stacking of universities from different continents and how each of the universities around the world (US, UK, Australia, Canada, Japan) have managed to get enrolment from international students in 2015-20162. The US PG market is slated to grow, considerably attracting the highest and contributing to research capabilities. However, these markets are highly skewed, Stunited.org3estimates bilateral student flow projections in 2020 shunning the historic trends of education destination patterns. It also predicts India, US, China and Indonesia will account for world’s half of total international student mobility aged (18-24) years. The rest of the demand will be from Egypt, Pakistan, Brazil, Bangladesh, Vietnam, Mexico, Philippines and Ethiopia for future.
